Hello, I’m Victoria.
Thanks for visiting my website..

My surname is Basque and I am of Spanish/ Italian origin. Born and raised in Manila (Philippines) in the 1960s, I migrated with my family to Australia in ’76, basing ourselves in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

My training in the principles of design had its basis in the 5-year Fashion Design Course that I took at East Sydney Technical College (now the National Art School). I topped it up with the final year of an Associate of Arts Degree, majoring in Fashion and Textile Design at a small college in Ft Lauderdale (Florida). After that, I spent 25 amazing years in the Australian fashion industry, with roles ranging from range coordinator to buyer and agent. My work gave me the opportunity to travel the world several times a year, dipping in and out of the fashion capitals.

My time in the fashion industry came to a halt in 2007 when the Global Financial Crisis hit. It was my cue to call it a day. I switched my focus to travel writing and launched my website Explore My World Travel. Exploring the world with my husband, Peter, I kept a steady stream of followers posted on exciting destinations and travel tips. The more I traveled, the more enamoured I became with capturing the beauty around me with my camera in a way that my writing could not.

In 2017, I took the plunge into full time photography. I enjoy portraiture and travel photography. My true passion is capturing the beauty of our coastline and the diversity of the locals.
